Verskillende Bybels oor homoseksualiteit

Daar is egter mense wat beweer dat die oorspronklike Hebreeus iets ander bedoel, met ander woorde, hulle beweer dat ’n mens nie uit die oorspronklike Hebreeus kan aflei dat homoseksualiteit sonde is nie.

Hierdie artikel vergelyk die dele oor homoseksualiteit in die Afrikaanse 1983 vertaling, Afrikaanse 1953 vertaling en die King James.

Alhoewel nie die King James óf die Afrikaanse 1953 vertaling die woord “homoseksuele” gebruik nie, is dit baie duidelik dat hierdie dele in die Bybel van homoseksualiteit praat. In 1953 het die woord “homoseksualiteit” óf nog nie bestaan nie, óf dit was nog nie algemeen gebruik nie. Die King James is reeds in 1611 geskryf, daarom is dit vanselfsprekend dat die woord “homosexual” nie in die King James sal wees nie, omdat dit nog nie bestaan het nie.

’n Ander manier om daarna te kyk is om die vraag te vra of al die Bybelvertalers oor die wêreld nog altyd hierdie vyf gedeeltes verkeerd verstaan het.
